Diana Ross Rewrites Hit For Transform Rockford

ROCKFORD–
Diana Ross loves Rockford (she has a cousin from Durand) and to show her appreciation she changed the lyrics to one of her biggest hits, and promises to gives proceeds to our beloved city’s biggest political/feelgood hit of the summer Transformation Rockford.
She will be recording the track in Chicago with transformation dollars then sell the song via the internet and donate 3% of the proceeds to a charity of her choice in the name of Rockford and 4% to the almighty Transform Rockford Movement. There will be 14 breakout meetings over the next 3 years to determine the best time to record the track, meanwhile you can have a gander at the revised lyrics here below…

What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
No not just for some but for everyone

Rockford we don’t need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides
Enough to climb
There are oceans and dirty rivers
Enough to cross. enough to last
‘Till the end of time

What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
No not just for some but for everyone

Rockford we don’t need another meadow
There are corn fields and wheat fields
Enough to grow
There are guns and knifes
Enough to shine
Oh listen Rockford if you want to know

What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
No not just for some but for everyone

What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
What the world needs now is transformation, sweet transformation
What the world needs now…

UM. Except this isn’t a Diana Ross “hit”. Perhaps you meant “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”? Dionne Warwick and Jackie De Shannon are the ones best known for “What The World Needs Now”.
