Downtown Remembers Rockford’s Fallen Soldiers With a Pizza Party

rockford-best-pizzaRockford, IL –  Downtown Rockford was bustling with Memorial Day Weekend party-goers this weekend.  Saturday night climaxed with a Positivity Party for friends and family returning home for the weekend to eat ribs and see loved ones.

Leonard Steambol told us, “The goal is to get our fallen soldiers to return home and stay here.  Many of our family and friends left us for good because our leaders have been exceptionally consistent with forcing people out to find positive pastures elsewhere. Well let me tell you, Rockford is a pretty positive place to be right now.”

The crowd at State and Main Streets were dancing to disco music and drinking Bud Lights when a fallen soldier took the mic from the DJ and said, “You want us to stay?  Bring me my pizza, Rockford!” rockford-2014-block-party The crowd cheered for pizza–”PIZZA!  PIZZA!  ROCKFORD!  PIZZA!”–but we all knew the cheers were for Rockford’s Fallen Soldiers who have left us for stronger, healthier communities.

And then it happened, the pizza came and everyone ate it.

1,024 pizza pies were delivered from Papa Johns, Dominoes and Godfather’s Pizza to treat our exiles with the best pizza Rockford has to offer.  It washed our negative blues away and helped us forget for one night that the disco music and Bud Lights cannot hold a candle in the Rockford wind to a pizza party. A positivity pizza party that all of Rockford will remember for ever and ever. And ever.
