Facebook Prayers Saved Grandma’s Life

Facebook Prayers Saved Grandma’s Life

Rockford- Betsy Stienbecker was dead. She flat-lined Saturday night surrounded by her loving family. Grandma Stienbecker had suffered a heart attack- most likely from all the Beffatillos she’d been consuming. After nearly an hour of trying to resuscitate Grandma, doctors checked the clock and pronounced her dead. Just then, the heart rate monitor began beeping. Betsy was alive.

The doctors were stunned. They had no explanation for how this could have happened, but Betsy did. She recounted her experience to Facebook the next day.

“I was walking down the tunnel toward the light, when a nice, elderly white man stopped me. He pulled out his smart phone and said, ‘Hold on Betsy! Looks like your Grandson’s Facebook post has enough likes, comments and reactions for me to save your life. So I’m gonna send you back. Make sure you tell your atheist friends that commented, they’re thinking of you, that they’ll burn in Hell fire for eternity. Oh, and stop eating the fast food in Rockford. That s#!t will kill you.’ Next thing I know I’m waking up in the hospital with a black nurse hunched over me. I about had another heart attack right then and there!”

Earlier that day, Betsy’s Grandson, Jason, posted to Facebook, “My Grandma Betsy could sure use your prayers right now.” He received: 23 hearts, 14 likes, 16 sad faces  and 1 angry face– enough for God to save his Grandma’s life.

Most Rockfordians’ Facebook pleads don’t receive enough attention to warrant divine intervention. Where were you people when my wife was dieing of cancer? Did I not share enough? Was my Instagram game weak? Were my poor social media skills the reason my wife suffered for 6 long years and died with our unborn child? ‘Sad face’ that.
