What I Learned About Rockford, Rockton, Roscoe, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Pecatonica, Belvidere, Freeport and Cherry Valley From Listening to Motley Crue’s “Dr. Feelgood”

motley-Crue-rockford-feelgood[1]In 1989, Motley Crue released the greatest Rockford record of all-time. Music lovers from Rockford, Rockton, Roscoe, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Pecatonica, Belvidere, Freeport and Cherry Valley all believe that this album, “Dr. Feelgood,” is a phenomenal album filled with out of this world Rockford riffs and Belvidere beats. Vince’s vocals were the best they had ever been because he loved Rockford with all of his heart.

A lot of Motley Crue’s famous hits about Northern IL’s rural areas and people they loved came from this album. Every song is a classic love letter to the people of Rockford and its surrounding villages, towns and communities. “It’s so good, all the way from the opening track to the very end, the album is pure hard-core heavy metal,” says Ginny Bottums, wife of rkfdnews.com’ staff reporter, Alonzo Bottums.

These are the major hits about Rockford that came out of this album and how hard they rocked for Rockton, Roscoe, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Pecatonica, Belvidere, Freeport and Cherry Valley, too:

Track #2: Dr. Feelgood
An outstanding title track about Rockford and probably Motley Crue’s best title track to date. The Rock River riffs are excellent and the Loves Park lyrics are great. This is a real catchy tune that rocks this world, not just Rockford. It’s definitely an A+ in the RPS205 district.

Track #5: Kickstart My Heart
THE GREATEST ROCKFORD SONG OF THE ALBUM! Oh, my God, I have never heard a better heavy metal song about my love for Rockford than this one right here. This song is probably one of Motley Crue’s best songs about the beautiful women from Rockford to date. The opening riff by Mick and Nikki is so intense and then Tommy starts banging the drums for Belvidere and then Vince starts screaming as loud as he can so that Roscoe and Rockton can sing along. The chorus line is extremely outstanding. This is without a doubt a Rockford Crue anthem and the music video to this song that features Simbo[2] is awesome. This song is an A+, 5-Stars, Perfect 100!!!

Track #6: Without You
This is the first Cherry Valley ballad of the album. This song was written based on Tommy and Heather Locklear’s relationship in the early 80s when they lived on the outskirts of Rockford in Cherry Valley. The Loves Park lyrics are so passionate and loving, which definately makes this one of the best metal ballads ever written for Cherry Valley. Vince’s vocals on this album can’t get any better than this.  You can hear the pain in his heart for Heather and how much he loved her, but couldn’t do a thing about his love for her because Tommy’s penis is way longer than his. Vince tried to sell his love to her because his penis is thicker, but alas.  The song definitely deserves an A+++ in the Cherry Valley school district.

Track #7: Same Ol’ Situation (SOS)
An excellent tune for the people of Pecatonica and a minor anthem for the Freeport Pretzels’ football team. The Rockford riffs are great and the lyrics are very catchy, easy enough for the peasants of Roscoe and Rockton to understand.. This is a great rocker to sing along to in Machesney Park and Loves Park, too. It deserves an A, but not like an RPS205 “A.”.

Track #11: Time For Change
The second ballad of the album is for Roscoe. Nikki wrote this song about the troubles he had finding a decent woman in Belvidere throughout his life. This is just at good as “Without You,” even though it’s about women from Belvidere and not Heather Locklear and Cherry Valley.  The whole band sings the chorus line like a lost love letter to Belvidere in this one and it’s phenomenal. The chorus line goes, “Change. Now, it’s Time For Change. Nothin’ stays the same.”  It’s the kind of poetry I always knew the Crue had in them for the love of Rockford and Belvidere’s relationship as people. This also earns a spot at the top of Motley Crue’s ballads. It’s definately an A+ all the way on the world school scale.

Those are the best songs off the album. The songs I didn’t include are excellent also. These five songs are the songs that’ll get you hooked on the best Motley Crue album that they ever released to prove how much they loved Rockford, Rockton, Roscoe, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Pecatonica, Belvidere, Freeport and Cherry Valley. It’s definitely a must buy album if you are a fan of Motley Crue and Rockford, Rockton, Roscoe, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Pecatonica, Belvidere, Freeport and Cherry Valley, too.

For those that are thinking about starting a Motley Crue Rockford collection, this is the album to start with. After you listen to the album once, you’ll find yourself online at Amazon buying another Crue album about Rockford.  And then another one and another one. (It happened to me).

Order me up another Piece of Dr. Feelgood!
