[1]Jeremy Hersherberger of Beloit, Wi. is midway through his walk to the Byron Nuclear Plant as he stays at his friend’s home Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Rockford. Hersherberger started his walking journey on Wednesday, Sept. 12, to raise money from people he meets along the way to help fund his morning drinking habit, and to buy lawn ornaments for the elderly, and to help children, and to fund his nightly drinking habit. “J naps in the afternoons most days,” according to Leona Banz, one of many Rockford-area female friends that Jeremy has shacked up with over the years after long walks down Route 2.
UPDATE: Neighbors witnessed Hersherberger on IL-72 East this morning walking very slowly. Jill Sabutis owns a farm off of 72 and approached him on his walk from Beloit to Byron. “He had a smile and seemed in good walking condition. I offered to drive him into town and buy him a coffee but he told me that would be cheating. He said he only drinks Mad Dog 20/20 Lime in the mornings. Says it’s been good for his bones!”
