Goose Saves Child From Deadly Water Moccasin
Wednesday, June 28th- It was a typical evening stroll for Jenifer Posch and her 5-year-old daughter Max. They walked to their usual spot to feed the ducks some gluten-free bread scraps and dairy-free cheese curds.
Max was just a few yards away from her mother when she was corned by what was definitely, for sure- and we say this with one hundred percent certainty, was probably a water moccasin or a stick.
Jenifer had recently seen an article on one of Rockford’s leading news sites, 97ZOK.com, making her a certifiable snake expert. She knew the only way to scare a snake off is to punch it in the nose but her young daughter did not.
As the snake reared up to strike, a friendly neighborhood goose intervened. With a honk, the goose grabbed the snake by it’s tail with her powerful beak and proceeded to eat the deadly snake like a pasta noodle.
Little is known about the hero goose. Mayor Macnmayor intended to give the goose the Key to the city but he couldn’t determine which goose had done the deed. He has scheduled a ceremony for Saturday evening, honoring all geese, in hopes that the hero goose will be in attendance.
We here at RKFDnews would like to urge the public to stay safe and assume every snake is a deadly water moccasin even though they are not native to the area and pose little threat to anyone.
