ROCKFORD — Beloit’s military toppled the city’s first independently elected president Wednesday night and reportedly put him under house arrest while rounding up some of his top supporters like Supply Corn and the Bee Moe Better Bank even as the deposed Morrison insisted that he remains the city’s legitimate leader.

Hundreds of people took to the streets coming across the river from the West side to the East over the mighty state street bridge in protest some wore funny shirts with witty slogans and some were just mad.Some people even showed up at the new “bridge to nowhere” behind the Discover Yourself Museum looking confused. At least three people were killed one dog and more than 40 wounded in sporadic violence that at times pitted Morrisons supporters against the opposition and the dream police.

Morrison “did not achieve the goals of the people” and failed to meet the Illinois states demands that he share some of the gambling money and power with his city.
