Baby Helps Police Arrest Purse Snatcher
Rockford, IL – Late Sunday evening, Rockford police officers responded to an alarm for a purse snatching outside of a Happy Wong restaurant parking lot at 3904 Delarware on the city’s south side. Police and eyewitness reports state that the 34 year old female victim, Janeesa Harres, with her 31 year old baby’s daddy, Demarkis Clover, and her 4 year old granddaughter, LaTylenol, exited the Chinese food restaurant around 9:45.
A stocky, 5’4″ male grabbed the victims as they headed to the car. Janeesa fought her assailant, but the thief managed to escape with the victim’s Gucci designer purse. 4 year old LaTylenol managed to get in front of the robber and trip him, and police soon picked up the suspect, limping further down the street.
Rolando “Champu” Hernanandez of Belvidere was charged with robbery, disturbing the peace, and operating without a license. Hernanandez should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
“He stupid,” claims Janeesa. “He tryin’ to take my Gucci, and then he kick my baby? Oh, hell no. Janeessa ain’t hearin’ that! Stupid.”
