Hand us the #1 Trophy already. We need to make more t-shirts!

Rockford, IL –  Yahoo Finance published a report listing 10 American cities that will not recover from the Great Recession.  The irony is that Rockford never recovered from the late 70s-early 80s recession which began the four decade defeat of a post-industrial American city.  Once proud, always poor.

Yahoo Finance joins Forbes and other popular national publications along with a few sane community members who believe it’s one of the most worst American cities to work and live in.  It is, but we at RKFD believe it’s one of the funniest American cities.  Real, original funny.

Hand us a #1 trophy for once! We need to make more T-shirts.

TEDx Event Will Inspire Locals To Continue Telling Stories To Each Other

Rockford, IL -TEDx – the popular online community site that inspires professional people (and lazy web surfers needing to get their day going if coffee doesn’t) to think with other peoples ideas – is coming to town! The TEDxRockford’s PR statement says, “the goal of TEDxRockford is to tell stories around the model’s four main themes: 21st Century Brainpower, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Quality Connected Places, and Branding with New Narratives.” We thought locals were trying to do that for decades, but now we know that TED is listening to us!
