Local area restaurants approve Link card for meals..

ROCKFORD–
McDonald’s today announced that most of its restaurants will begin accepting the Link card and Wic with immediate effect. By mid January, Link card payment will be available at all McDonald’s Restaurants with the Wic program starting about 4 months after. By doing so, McDonald’s becomes the first in the fast casual restaurant industry here to accept the Link card as a payment mode in its restaurants, including its newly opened stand alone store set to open in the old Kryptonite Bar space in January 2107.
“We are keeping our eyes focused on uplifting the overall restaurant experience by providing our customers with services that are relevant to their lifestyle. Over and above quality food and value, we want to continually explore initiatives that can make customers’ visits to McDonald’s easy and convenient as well as delightful and fun. Practically everyone on this side of town has a link card, so by accepting it as a payment mode, customers now have another practical use for the card beyond travelling on the bus or MRT,” said Bobby Jones II, Country Manager, McDonald’s Restaurants.
“With the new customer loyalty programme we are developing, the link card will take on another dimension as a value-add card. We would like to show customers that we care and want to continue to connect with them in fresh, relevant ways.Taco Bell (Rockford’s #1) Mexican restaurant will also jump on board early on in 2017. Details of the loyalty programScreen Shot 2016-08-21 at 5.56.52 PM will be announced prior to its launch later this year.

This is satire, and horribly classist satire at that. McDonald’s is not accepting ebt, and it especially isn’t accepting WIC. That’s not even how WIC works!
