Man Jump From Bridge After Being Called a F***ing Idiot

ROCKFORD – River Police and state officials are searching for a person who two witnesses said jumped off the Jefferson Street Bridge on Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Jerry Waters of River Police said that at about 6:15 p.m.after dragging the river for 2 hours his agency turned the search over to the Aquatic Secret Service.

“At about 3 today we had two reports that someone had jumped,” he said. “We searched from 3:30 to 5:30, and we didn’t find anything.”

A witness reported  that he heard on a police scanner that a man had parked his car on the center span, walked 30 to 50 feet away from his vehicle, put one leg over the side of the bridge and then started shouting things like “I am not a F***ing Idiot” and  “F**k You Angie!”and then jumped.
