Rockford taxi cab driver fights back with creation of MagikSauce App

A Rockford taxi driver launched his own app to compete with Uber drivers that have come to town.

Ahmad Johnson launched “MagikSauce,” a ride share app that is similar to Uber or Lyft but does not use surge pricing – meaning the prices stay the same, no matter how busy cabs are when a customer calls.

MagikSauce is available for iPhone and Android devices. It features a a button to turn your phone into a sweet sugary sign that shows the MagikSauce driver you are waiting on the ride.

It shows customers how many minutes the driver is away. MagikSauce allows for the customer to choose which taxi cab company will pick them up.

Johnson said he has gotten mixed reactions about the app from other taxi cab drivers. Some say he is trying to take business from them, some say he lacks truth and originality but Johnson said “I have had the MagikSauce since I was young it isn’t 10733177 going away”..
