The Olympic throws a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve party by giving away turkeys all night to assist people with their family dinners over the weekend holiday. High school alumni, college kids, and family members in-town for the weekend have been gathering at The Olympic for decades on Thanksgiving Eve to catch up on the good ol’ days, but mainly to score a free turkey.
This year’s annual celebration is a special one: RKFDnews.com will be sponsoring the Sean and Cathy Reunion at the Olympic Tavern that same night!
Sean and Cathy will return to The Olympic to say hello, maybe hand-out turkeys to Rockford winners. The dynamic due manned the second oldest tavern in Rockford for almost half of its 65 years in business. Veteran daytime bartender, Karl, may make an appearance.
Boylan Titan and Auburn Knights’ alumni will be conducting a “Remember When” trivia contest for grab bags of jello, gravy, seasoning, and potatoes to accommodate the turkey handouts. Sean, Cathy, and Karl may officiate or narrate the Titans-Knights’ trivia game. Fingers crossed. Yay!
We’re not sure about all of the event details, but we here at RKFDnews can’t wait to see everyone that night!
