Sting & Phil Collins ‘SynchroSudio’ Tour Coming To Rockford

Rockford, IL – Never-ending project development wars have held up Downtown Rockford’s transformation from becoming something like a 1990s Peoria, IL much sooner. However, good times have finally arrived for Northern IL’s music lovers:
Sting and Phil Collins 2015 SynchroSudio Tour is coming to town this spring. The tour makes an unexpected stop to perform at the cozy, intimate Times Theater on May 23rd, 2015– Memorial Day Weekend. The veteran international pop stars are used to performing in larger venues over the last four decades, but their recent tour is aimed at “getting back to their roots,” says Donald King, the tour’s promoter.
“Sting and Phil have promised to make The SynchroSudio Tour as special as possible for fans of all phases of their careers. Songs from each of their extended catalogs, including Genesis and The Police, will be performed along with a few duets and surprises by guest performers,” said King.
Rkfdnews asked if local heroes, Cheap Trick, were scheduled to guest star at the Times:
“We have something special planned though nothing’s been confirmed.
Bun (E. Carlos) has been contacted to play the drums for Phil on his NFL hit, “In The Air Tonight.”
Robin and Rick (Nielsen) have been pitched the idea to perform with Gordon (Sting) on “Roxanne.”
We have nothing planned for Tom and Daxx yet,” added King.
King laughingly confirmed another question we asked: “No, no, no. Gordon and Phil will not perform shirtless, sorry.”
Times Theater promoters have confirmed that the massive event allows the Theater’s property owners to halt the sale of the property and to complete a modern upgrade to bring it up to code; thus improving its assessed value another $100k and boosting the region’s commercial real estate market. The Times is located a block away from Rockford’s famous (and equally ignored) El Coronandó Teatro on the corner of North Main and Jefferson streets.
Additional event info, parking, hotel and restaurant packages are available with ticket purchases. There is a limit of 2 tickets per order due to the limited seat availability of the Times Theater. Each order comes with a copy of our debut book, “Believe.”
