2018 Cheap Trick Festival Coming Back to Rock Rockford
Rockford, IL — The successful Cheap Trick Music Festival which GrahamSpencer and RACVB presented to the community and media in 2016 will be back for another round of rock and roll applause in downtown Rockford come the summer of 2018!
The 2018 festivities will not be hosted on the roof of the Rockford Register Star, as it was in 2016 which created security concerns for camera-drone hobbyists. Instead, the mainstage will be setup on a large cruise ship in the middle of the Rock River. Concert-goers will be able to rock out in downtown Rockford on both sides of the river. Floatable River Rafts with beer cup holders will be available to VIP concert goers, along with meet and greet opportunities to swim ashore towards Davis Park with the bands to feed the community free soup and potatoes.
The lineup for 2018 will be announced in March of 2018.
“Due to the success of the first music festival, there will be cupcakes and pony rides to make the 2018 event all the more better for the community. We will also be giving away special Rockford pride color balloons in the coming weeks which will be inserted into limited copies of the Rockford Register Star’s Tuesday edition. Those balloons may be used for FREE entrance at the 2018 Cheap Trick Fest!”— Annie Plausetrom, Director of Social Media Intelligence for the Rockford Area Internet Reputation Coalition (RAIRC).
Whenever you hear the Tornado Siren ring throughout Rockford from Dec. 13, 2017 through the end of May 2018, run out to find a copy of the Rockford Register Star and you, too, can attend the premier music event in downtown Rockford. The Cheap Trick Music Fest is being presented again by RACVB and Graham Spencer.
