Rockford, IL – June 9th, 2015, will be remembered as a historic day for the community of Rockford, IL.  After years of praying and begging for a quality fast food restaurant, the community’s wishes were answered.  Portillo’s, the famous Chicagoland area beef and pork restaurant, has opened in Rockford!  Yay!  Watch live coverage over at WIFR-TV starting at noon today and forever.  Actually, WIFR has been silently kind to us in the past with free coverage of some of our NOOSE BREAKING stories– so, watch WIFR TV forever and evah!

True story, Portillo’s headquarters invited RKFDnews’ staff to the exclusive opening (possibly because of all of the free guerrilla styled advertising we’ve given them in this region with our noose breaking stories during the past 3 years), but we declined preferring to pay for our own food in exchange for maintaining our dignity VS. enjoying a free-loader meal like the rest of Rockford’s ‘leaders’ in attendance. Thank you, Portillo’s, you’re kind, but f**k the free-loading Rockford ponies who will be there celebrating themselves at your expense– we would rather pay for a juicy beef-sausage combo and a chocolate shake. : )
